For The Gaze

Music: “For the Gaze” from Death Becomes Her - Mattison and Carey

Choreographer: Aurora La Veglia

Props: Aurora La Veglia

Cast: Lead - Aurora La Veglia; Showgirls - Annie, Layne Alexandra, Savannah Paul; Rainbow Dancers - Adrien Callahan, Bean, Dax McCormack, JB, Reagan Rademacher, Rebecca Sarin

Yes, everything we do is for the GAYS!

Thank you to my rainbow dancers and showgirls for your hard work, creative collaboration, and endless support. It’s a joy to share the stage with these stars!

Hot Shit

Music: “H.S” by Tom Cardy

Creative Lead: Adrien Callahan

Choreographer: Ez Flagg

Cast: Pluto - Adrien Callahan; The Sun - Minty Breakdown; Jupiter - Rhin L.; Black Hole - Ez Flagg; Supermassive Black Hole - Dax McCormack

Hot Shit is a celebration of the fact that in this beautiful queer universe, we’re all unique and incomparable to one another. We’re all Hot Shit, and we should own it.

Not in the Cards

Playwright: Aubrey Krebs

Script Consult: Adrien Callahan

Cast: Maeve - Aubrey Krebs; Stella - Emily Radwin; Conscience - Caitlin Donnelly; Understudy - Gitchie

Not in the Cards is a comedy skit about the frustrations and ironies of dating as a queer person, with some chaotic astrological flair sprinkled on top. The scene draws heavily from the real experiences of the writer (who plays the scene’s protagonist), both in terms of her lived experience as a trans woman and in her journey of learning to love herself.

Lovers Reversed

Music: “Therapy” from Tick Tick Boom - Jonathan Larson

Creative Lead: Layne Alexandra

Cast: Susan - Layne Alexandra; Jonathan - Carson (Sonny) Morrissey

Have you ever been in a toxic relationship and turned to tarot in hopes that the cards would let you know it's all going to be okay but you pull the Lovers Reversed instead? Well, this is that but make it musical theater. At least it's not the tower!

On the Moon

Music: “On The Moon” by Connor Storms

Choreographer: Lydia

Guest Musician: Connor Storms

Performers: Lobster - Lydia; Wolves - Annie, Nikita Potnis

The Moon tarot card has been drawn. Two wolves howl skyward towards the Moon as it sings a song of unsure paths, heartbreak, and dreams. Also, there’s a lobster. The Moon card highlights that everything is not always as it seems. Reflect through the phases of the moon with each rotation of the cyr wheel in this act where dance meets circus meets the musical stylings of Connor Storms.

Hermia vs. Helena

Adaptation: “A Midsummer’s Night Dream” by William Shakespeare

Creative Lead: Emily Radwin

Cast: Hermia - Emily Radwin; Helena - Raminta Holden

In paying homage to QA+P's Shakes-queer traditions, this scene is a reimagined version of the conflict between Helena and Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream. In our version, Helena and Hermia were best friends - who romanced in secret but never discussed their feelings! - before Hermia ditched her bestie to date Lysander. Nearly all lines are adapted from the Midsummer text.

Tap Fever

Sketch Writer, Director, and Choreographer: Layne Alexandra

Cast: Beatrice - Layne Alexandra; Darcy - Aurora La Veglia; Lizzie - Rebecca Sarin; Dr. Doo - JB; Mystic Luna- Bean; Sergeant Mack - Gitchie; Bettie Bug - Aubrey Krebs; Bennie Bug - Lydia

It's exactly what you think it is. Tap fever is written in the stars and you're next.

Intermission

Act 2

Cronos, the Wiley

Excerpt: Hesiod’s “Homeric Hymns” (Translated by Evelyn-White, H.G., 1914)

Creative Lead: Ez Flagg

Narrator: Rachael Beaumont

Performers: Lydia, Shepherd, Nikita Potnis, Raminta Holden, Rhin L.

In the retelling of this Greek myth, we begin at the creation of the universe and follow a lineage of heroes who live long enough to become the villain. From an ancient inspiration, this piece examines cycles of power and corruption that are eerily relevant in modern political systems.

The irreverent execution takes text from Hesiod’s Theogony and visually mimics the experience of storytelling through stargazing. By using sound scapes and puppetry techniques, this act brings to life a storm and the bardic constellations in the night sky.

Content warning: Act contains simulated vomit noises.

When prompted, please stomp, clap, snap and drum along with us.

Vernal Equinox

Playwright: Jack Torres

Cast: Paul - Jack Torres; Olive - Caitlin Donnelly

Vernal Equinox is a piece that speaks to the reawakening of ourselves as we emerge from the darkness. The spring season brings fertile earth, beautiful blooms, and warmer weather and these changes help us find balance in our world and navigate our identities.

If

Music: “If” by Cleo Lane

Soloist: Dyke Van Dick

Guest Musicians: Charlie Morse - Guitar; Amy Huynh - Bass Guitar

If is about the desire to return to innocence after a simple love is lost. There is a desperation to ask the stars for help, even if they opt to remain silent observers.

Capricorn

Music: “The Adults Are Talking” by The Strokes

Choreographer: Elliot Lee

Performers: Annie, Layne Alexandra, Rebecca Sarin

Capricorn knows how to knuckle down and execute. But what happens when you break free from the corporate grindset mindset? What happens when you become your own authority?

Moonlight Magic

Music: “Moonlight Magic” by Ashnikko

Choreographer and Playwright: Dani McPeak

Performers: Artemis - Dani McPeak; Hunters - Bean, JB, Reagan Rademacher, Savannah Paul; Actaeon - Jack Torres

Many of humanity’s earliest stories were inspired by the stars, and some of the most enduring come to us from, of course, ancient Greece. Personally, the myth of Artemis and Actaeon gives me something I wish we had more of in the real world: unapologetically powerful women punishing men who deserve everything coming to them. This number is dedicated to all of the queers out there who have ever had a special interest in Greek mythology (iykyk).

Share the Moon

Music: “Share the Moon” by The Indigo Girls

Choreographer: Rebecca Sarin

Performers: Rebecca Sarin, Annie, Aurora La Veglia, Dax McCormack, Jack Torres, Savannah Paul, Rachael Beaumont, Ensemble

"Sharing the moon" in this wonderful song represents sharing time and space with someone you love. It has been a joy to share the moon with the QAP community!
